The International Polar Bear Conservation Centre opened at Assiniboine Park Zoo on January 23, 2012. It is a key component of the new Journey to Churchill exhibit and will help the Zoo achieve its goal of actively contributing to environmental and wildlife education, research, and conservation.
When you visit the Zoo, be sure to stop by the interactive visitor interpretive centre located within the IPBCC to learn about polar bears, the Arctic ecosystem, climate change, and what you can do to reduce your impact on our environment.
For a taste of what you'll see at the Visitor Interpretive Centre at the International Polar Bear Conservation Centre, check out this video from Centric Productions who produced a number of interactive videos for the interpretive centre.
The IPBCC has been made possible thanks to the financial support of the Province of Manitoba and the generous contributions of private donors who have supported our Imagine a Place Campaign.
