When school is out, the Zoo is in!

Zoo Camp is perfect for children who love nature, animals, art and adventure. Children  enjoy a one-of-a-kind adventure featuring animals, nature, art and non-stop fun! We offer in-service camps, spring break camp, and weekly summer camps in July and August.

All camps are designed for children in Grades 1 to 6.


  • Due to program popularity and limited space available, we ask that you cancel at least ten (10) business days prior to the start of the program for a 90% refund of the program fee.
  • Cancellations with less than ten (10) business days’ notice receive a refund of 75% of the program fee.
  • No refunds will be given for cancellations with less than two (2) business days’ notice.


Looking for some festive fun to keep your child busy over the holidays? Sign them up for Zoo Camp! Campers will spend time indoors and outdoors exploring the Park and Zoo and enjoying some snowy winter fun!

Register for the week or just the days you need. Single day spaces are limited, so sign up early!

Day 1 (Tuesday, January 3): Snow Play
This day is all about celebrating how cool winter is. Spend part of the day in the Zoo and learn about nature photography, go birding in the English Garden, and make snow creations. We'll finish off the day with some downhill sliding in the Nature Playground.  

Day 2 (Wednesday, January 4): Tropical Escape
Take a tropical vacation at Assiniboine Park! Trek to Toucan Ridge at the Zoo and party at the Palm House at the Conservatory. Cool off by the Duck Pond and warm up by a camp fire in the Nature Playground.

Day 3 (Thursday, January 5): ARTic
Let the wonders of winter inspire your imagination! Create your own land art piece, snow painting, ice sculpture, and more! We will spend time at the Zoo and enjoy sledding or skating in the heart of the Park.
Day 4 (Friday, January 6): Arctic Adaptations
We will take a Journey to Churchill to visit our tundra friends and see what animals need to survive in the cold. Our explorations will take us around the Zoo as we learn how animals are suited for their environment in the wild and at the Zoo.

We offer in-service camps on the following dates. Drop-off and pick-up are conveniently located at the Qualico Family Centre. While you are busy, your child will be busy too - exploring the Park and Zoo, learning about animals and nature, and making new friends. We will spend time indoors and outdoors, ensuring your child has a fun, productive and playful day!

Are you ready to go on a polar adventure? Join us as we learn about animals that live on the icy tundra by exploring the Journey to Churchill exhibit at the Zoo. From powerful polar bears to slippery seals, we will learn how these amazing animals adapt to survive in the Arctic.

Are you tired of the snow? Need a vacation? Escape with us to the jungles of Assinboine Park and Zoo. We will explore the lush Conservatory and tropical jungle in Toucan Ridge at the Zoo, chasing away those winter blues with a healthy dose of green!


This is a purr-fect day to learn about the wonderful world of cats. The Zoo is home to some fabulous, furry felines including Amur tigers and snow leopards, to name a few. We we learn all about these amazing animals and how they compare to their domestic cousins.
