October is Member Appreciation Month (All Members)

As a thank you to our members, we are planning a number of promotions and discounts just for members in October. There will be special fall-themed activities for our visitors, PLUS members will enjoy...

  • Double discounts at food and retail
  • Weekly prize draws for a $50 Assiniboine Park and Zoo gift card
  • Free wagon rides at the McFeetors Heavy Horse Centre
  • One grand prize draw at the end of the month for a FREE membership renewal *
* Membership must be renewed at the same level. Members wishing to upgrade to the Plus or Conservation level will be responsible for paying the difference.

Bring a Friend

October is also a great time to share your love of the Park and Zoo with friends and family! Throughout the entire month, members can bring one visitor per day for 50% off regular Zoo admission. Discounted tickets must be purchased at the Zoo entrance. If your guest chooses to become a member during their visit, they will receive 10% off their membership.To take advantage of this discount, membership must be purchased at the Zoo entrance on the day of your guest's visit.

Join one of our experienced and knowledgeable educators on a guided walking tour.
Price is $5 per member. Tours proceed rain or shine.
60-minute tours are offered at 11 am and 1 pm on the following dates.

Saturday, October 21 | Polar Bears: Waiting for the Ice 

Every fall, polar bears gather along the Hudson Bay coastline waiting for the sea ice to form. This is a great time of year to come out to the Zoo learn the individual stories of our rescued polar bears and how conservation and research is helping them at the Zoo and in the wild.


Saturday, January 20 | Tropical Escape

Escape those January blues with a trip to the new world tropics at Toucan Ridge. This is a great time to trade winter white for a healthy dose of green and learn more about what makes the plants and animals of this indoor exhibit so unique.
